Just for Fun:
The pastor and his wife have been married over twenty years.
The pastor's wife was going out to do some shopping, while the pastor was working on his next sermon.
She asked her husband to stay away from the shoebox in the master closet, as it was a secret as to the contents. The pastor said he would be working on his sermon, and most likely would still be working on it when she returned home.
"Do you promise" she asked.
"Yes dear, I promise" he replied.
About an hour after she left, a little voice said, "what shoebox?"
His curiosity was sparked. He got up and wandered to the master closet. Readily he could not see any shoebox. He got a stool and above on the top shelf was a pink shoebox. He reached for the box, he stopped and listened, nothing, the coast was clear. He grabbed the box, and stepped down from the stool, sitting on the stool, he opened the box.
Oh, what is this, one, two, three eggs, and what appeared to be several thousand dollars. Whoa, shocked he put the box back, and headed back to his study for the next sermon.
Hours went by, finally his wife came home, rightfully so, he felt guilty. He did promise!
He was feeling so guilty he had to admit he broke his promise.
"Honey", he called.
"Honey", just alittle louder.
"yes, dear", she answered.
"I have something to tell you".
The pastor's wife came from the kitchen to met him in the study.
"Sit down, I have a confession to make to you".
Knowing her husband very well, "You looked in the box, didnt you"? "I asked you not to".
With a sad face he said, "I know but it just got the best of me, and I had to look".
"IT's ok, I understand", she said with a smile on her face!
The pastor asked, "What are the eggs for? I saw three eggs in the shoebox."
She told him that she had collected eggs for all the bad sermons he has given on Sundays. He thought and replied, "hmmm, not bad, twenty years of pastoring and only three bad sermons, I guess I do pretty good, huh, Honey"?, "So what is the money for, looks like several thousand dollars, can you tell me about the money"?
She held her head down, not looking him in the eye, she replied, " yes the money, well, each time I get a dozen eggs, I sell them"
